Weekly App Practical – Digital Classroom Management & Parent Engagement
This is an all in one app!!
I've been talking to a lot of family child care providers about the importance of using some kind of management communication system that allows them to keep track of daily documentation and at the same time staying connected with the parents.
This app will allow you to:
- Daily reports and sheets: feeding, sleep, diaper/potty, photos, activities
- Track needs, assessments, attendance, incidents, behavior, and more...
- Reminder alarms for feeding, diapers, sleep check, medicine.
- Easily view activities from current and prior days
This is great app because it minimizes the use of paper products for forms that have to be filled out such as, accident/incident reports, medication authorizations, etc. at the same time it provides a fast an easy communication with parents and teachers. It even allows you with the parents consent to share and upload photos and videos. If in a center, I can see immediately how many kiddos are in each room with the number of teachers as well. I can locate a child if he/she has been moved to a different room. Teachers will be able to perform conferences with much more ease with everything right at their fingertips.
The application can be used by teachers, directors and by parents. Parents who don't want to use the app and register will still receive a summary email in their mailbox at the end of the day. Below are some of the features this app offers. Another feature that is important is that it can be downloaded in many different languages. Kid reports is available to everybody: as a native application on iPhone, iPad, Android, and web application from any browser.
Another great feature for parents is that they will immediately know what their kid is doing during the day. They do not have to wait for the end of the day to find out what happened. They can connect to their account anytime, whether they are at work, at home or away on a trip. It reduces the anxiety of being away from the child not knowing what is happening. Parents will be less stressed and more relaxed leaving their child at the day care. I can anticipate this as being a problem if you are working alone without an assistant its hard to find the time during the day to input activities or any other relevant information. I would use nap time to enter any incident report, upload any video or pictures for parents to see on what their kids work on in the morning. Before the children arrive, I would the activities they will be working on that date ahead of time. I would have an iPad handy for pictures or videos or any other important information that i need to record.
I think it will be a challenged to find the right time during the busy day schedule to use and to add content to it. The price for this software is $129 dollars a month which is a bit pricey. Not all family Child care can afford to pay this monthly knowing their salary. But you can request a demo if you are unsure if it will work for you before you sign up.
kid reports
Looks like a good app for teachers to use for communications to parents.
